Folk Art
Definitions vary, but for us, folk art is that originally made by and for the people themselves, for their daily use and for special occasions. Contemporary work is often made for sale to outsiders as well. The artisans with whom we collaborate come from long traditions of craftsmanship. They typically produce their art together as a family, and take great pride in what they make from simple, at-hand materials: weavings, utilitarian pottery, jewelry, masks, decorations for celebrations, furniture, religious art, tools, toys, musical instruments, and household wares.
